Now, I am going to share with you examples about marketing strategies and tactics. This is to help you how much they are different and how much you need to think, learn, analyze and implement each one after full understanding.
What are examples of marketing strategies and tactics?
I will explain 2 examples related to life examples and 1 example related to marketing, all of the 3 examples are representing marketing strategies and tactics.
Examples of marketing strategies and tactics (example no. 1):
Imagine you want to go for your home, and you know very well that you are living in the 5th floor, and there is no elevator there. So you came from your work, parked your car at night, and you went to the building before your home by mistake (not effective strategy), and you have gone through the 5 floors while light is fading and your focus is not very well, you reached the place that is supposed to be your home and you found it another home (not efficient tactics).
Examples of marketing strategies and tactics (example no. 2):
Consider you were having an exam in
marketing communications
two weeks ago, Two months before the exam, you decided to study hard (effective strategy). You were studying every day, until two days before the exam you didn’t sleep because you though that the right way to study is to study till last moment before exam, so you went to exam and didn’t focus at all. What had happened is the wrong implementation which is called “non efficient tactics”, so the results won’t be a disaster as “not effective marketing strategy and efficient marketing tactics”.
Examples of marketing strategies and tactics (example no. 3):
Imagine yourself you are the brand manager of Apple laptops in Chicago, and your marketing manager asked you to set an effective marketing strategy that can make a new business for Apple Laptops. So you decided to shift your
marketing strategy
(
competitive advantage strategy
)
from Differentiation marketing strategy to Cost Leadership marketing strategy; while you will release the Apple products in Chicago by 50% of its price (Not effective Strategy). Then you make your marketing mix (product mix, marketing communications mix, place, pricing strategies, people, physical evidence and process) effective to implement your strategy (50% cut in price). So finally your loyal customers felt that they were investing their money in something that any person can buy, and this result in decreasing your sales by 60% in the 1st year. This example is representing “Not effective marketing strategy and efficient marketing tactics”.
Remember always that you can change your marketing tactics anytime as you want, but you can’t change your marketing strategies anytime (because it’s totally going to affect your business if you set a not effective marketing strategy with efficient marketing tactics).
